2007 Rusina Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

Vineyards

• 93% Zinfandel; 87% comes from our traditional source of the hilltop block at the Stefani Vineyard located on Canyon road near Geyserville in the Dry Creek Valley. The balance of 6% comes from a new vineyard to Rusina, the famous Monte Rosso Vineyard high up in the mountains of Sonoma Valley. We are extremely fortunate to use these grapes in our blend
• 7% old vine Petite Sirah, in Alexander Valley (close to the Jim Town Store) Harvested October 1st at 25.6 brix.

• Hand sorted before the crusher
• Stainless steel fermentation, hand punched every 6 hours, a Pinot Noir technique that results in broad, silky tannins.
• Malolactic Fermentation in 35% new French and Hungarian Oak barrels.
• Aged for 11 months in barrels before bottling.

Tasting Notes

• Complex flavors bursting of black cherries, raspberry, sweet vanilla, and brown spices. This Zinfandel is rich and concentrated with silky tannins and an excellent structure.

2007 Rusina Alexander Valley Zinfandel

• 90% Zinfandel; 86% comes from our traditional source of 35 year old bench land vineyards of Fred and Donna Passalacqua near Healdsburg in the cooler region of Alexander Valley. The balance of 14% comes from a new vineyard to Rusina, the famous Monte Rosso Vineyard high up in the mountains of Sonoma Valley. We are extremely fortunate to use these grapes in our blend.
• 10% old vine Petite Sirah, in Alexander Valley (close to the Jim Town Store)

• Hand sorted before the crusher
• Stainless steel fermentation, hand punched every 6 hours, a Pinot Noir technique that results in broad, silky tannins.

2007 Rusina Triskelion

• 50% Zinfandel from the 3 acre Fred and Donna Passalacqua Vineyard in the cooler region of Alexander Valley.
• 30% Syrah from the 4 acre Monte Rosso Vineyard in the rocky red soils in the hills of Sonoma Valley.
  
• 20% Petite Sirah from the 2 acre Demostene Family Vineyard in Alexander Valley.
  

• Hand sorted in the vineyard and again before the crusher.
• Stainless steel fermentation, hand punched every 6 hours, a Pinot Noir technique that results in broad, silky tannins.
• Malolactic Fermentation 1 year old French Oak barrels.
• Aged for 11 months in barrels before bottling.

Tasting Notes

• Complex flavors of blackberry, blueberry, anise, mocha, pepper, and brown spices. This Reserve blend is seamless in structure, with a lengthy finish.

2006 Monte Rosso Syrah

• 100% clone 177 Syrah from the Monte Rosso Vineyard
• Harvested October 25 at 26.9 brix

• Hand sorted before the crusher
• Fermented in small bins for maximum extraction
• Malolactic Fermentation in 35% new French and Hungarian Oak barrels.
• Aged for 11 months in French Oak before bottling.

• Complex flavors of blackberry, raspberry, white pepper. This Syrah is rich and concentrated with excellent structure with soft and broad tannins.

2007 Alexander Valley Petite Sirah

• 88% Petite Sirah, from well drained rocky soils in Alexander Valley (close to the Jim Town Store)
• 10% Zinfandel from 30+ year old bench land vineyards near Healdsburg in the cooler region of Alexander Valley.

• Hand sorted before the crusher
• Stainless steel fermentation, hand punched every 6 hours, a Pinot Noir technique that results in broad, silky tannins.
• Malolactic Fermentation in 33% new Hungarian Oak barrels.
• Aged for 11 months in barrels before bottling.
